My name is Mallika and I am the business development and marketing manager of the International Women’s Connection. I was born and brought up in New Delhi, India where I completed my engineering. I moved to France to do Masters in Management, specialising in Marketing and Strategy. I believe it’s a combination of both my technical and management skills that makes me a holistic professional.
I wanted to explore further in marketing and strategy domains so I worked as a Marketing Intelligence Assistant in Philips, Amsterdam and then as a Brand and Strategy Consultant in Lighthouse, Paris. After gaining exposure in different industries I decided to move back to India and co-founded my own bespoke and couture clothing label - Peach Loft by Anjali. It specialises in Indian traditional wear and craftsmanship, catering to the premium consumer segment in India.
There was always a ringing in the back of my head that I would end up settling in Europe (not just because I love travelling here, Oh did I not mention, I am a globetrotter), and once my business was established and settled I found myself living in Berlin. I love this city and being a total foodie who is vegetarian by the way, I am amazed at how many good vegetarian options the city offer.
Coming from a country where we are still at empowering women with more rights, I have always felt the need to do something about it, while I did volunteer in NGOs for women to help the cause, studies and work took the better side of me. A meeting with Anh and Frederike simulated those thoughts again and inspired me to be a part of this amazing project.
And let’s not forget this -
"Feminism isn't about making women strong. Women are already strong. It's about changing the way the world perceives that strength." - by G.D. Anderson
